South East Regional Forum

Fifty-six pupils, seven schools, one day. This was the first 2013 EYP South East Regional Forum in a nutshell. The organiser, Laura Hibberd, worked hard to organise the Forum at the European Commission representation in London, providing A-level students with the opportunity to improve their research, team-work and public-speaking skills. Sophie Duffield replaced her during the session while she was sitting an exam and made sure everything ran smoothly.

Regional Forum Dates

The time for our Regional Forums to take place across the UK is fast approaching! On the 30th of November, the first of our fourteen Regional Forums will be starting the EYPUK year off, which takes place in Cardiff, South Wales. The planning of all sessions are well underway, and we are very excited to get stuck in to our calendar this year as it should prove to be a great one, for both delegations and alumni!

Stroud schools beat off stiff competition to claim top prizes at European Youth Parliament National session

Pupils from two Stroud schools beat off stiff competition from twelve other UK schools at the weekend to triumph at the European Youth Parliament UK National session in Liverpool.
Stroud High School will now represent the UK at the 71st International Session of the European Youth Parliament (EYP) in Amsterdam in November and Marling School, Stroud, will represent the UK at the 2nd International Forum of EYP-Europolis in Ghent.

HIGH SHERIFF AND LORD MAYOR FORMALLY OPEN EUROPEAN YOUTH PARLIAMENT

The High Sheriff of Merseyside, Colonel Martin Amlôt OBE DL, and the Lord Mayor of Liverpool, Councillor Sharon Sullivan, have formally opened the National session of the European Youth Parliament at Liverpool Hope University.
The High Sheriff and Lord Mayor both extended a warm welcome to the city for the 140 delegates and their teachers and wished them well for the National session of EYPUK.

EurVoice Experience- A Participant Report from EurVoice Edinburgh

When I was asked by my Modern Studies teacher to participate in the EurVoice event at the Scottish Parliament I did not fully realise just how wonderful the whole experience would be. Despite the fact that it was a long day I really felt that educationally it was a marvellous learning experience. When we arrived at the Parliament we were slightly early so we had the opportunity to look around at the various displays in the foyer. EurVoice Cardiff

On Thursday 17th May, pupils from the Cardiff area came together to take part in the final EurVoice event of the academic year, held in Cardiff at the prestigious venue of the Pierhead building of the National Assembly for Wales. None of the schools knew what to expect and this was the first experience of EYP for many, but everybody took part with enthusiasm and the day was a great success!

EurVoice London

The European Youth Parliament United Kingdom launches outreach event to reconnect London’s youth.
Following on from the success of last years event the European Youth Parliament United Kingdom is running the second London outreach event in it’s history. The event, entitled EurVoice London will connect with young people in the wake of last years riots and at a time of high youth unemployment and unprecedented changes to the school and university systems in England.
