EYPUK is delighted to announce that Monica Moisin (RO) and James Benge (UK) have been selected to preside the EYPUK National Sessions 2013. Monica will be leading the Summer National Session this July and James the Autumn National Session in September, both events will take place at Liverpool Hope University.

The 2013 Northern Ireland Regional Forum took place on Thursday 21st March at the Belfast Metropolitan College, located in Belfast’s newly developed Titanic Quarter. Taking part were five schools from across Northern Ireland, comprising of Ballymena Academy, Dalriada Grammar School, Royal Belfast Academical Institution, Thornhill College and Victoria College. The day began with welcomes from Catriona Hughes, a key figure in the establishment and organisation of EYP across Northern Ireland for many years, and Alastair Payne, who was presiding the forum.

On Friday the 15th of March, the Glasgow City Halls, famed for their iconic musical history, was introduced to 64 pupils from 4 schools around the West of Scotland, all buzzing with the EYP bug and all hopeful of winning a place at the National Sessions of EYP United Kingdom. On Wednesday the 13th of March, eight schools had the opportunity to debate current European concerns at the prestigious Oxford Union. Shortly after the schools were welcomed to the session by Head Organisers Josh Leyden & Patrick O’Kane, the Thames Valley Regional session began in earnest. A short address was delivered by the President of the Session, Callum MacGregor, who later described the day as, “exactly what an EYPUK Regional should be: an excellent standard of debate with plenty of humour thrown in!” Callum successfully encouraged delegates to embrace EYP …
