What can you learn from EYPUK?
EYPUK is a charity organisation which relies on the support of hundreds of youth volunteers from across the UK and Europe every year. It is a charity run by young people, for young people.
For the many volunteers engaged in the organisation, the European Youth Parliament offers diverse opportunities for skills development, in particular through training, holding key roles of responsibility within the organisation, and supporting the running of events and conferences. Training is a key component of almost every EYP event, and we strive to hold a wide range of training events every year to ensure participants come away with something gained from an EYPUK event.
In order to support the personal development of the EYP’s volunteers and their ability to take up various roles and responsibilities within the organisation, EYPUK organises capacity building training courses focused on a diverse set of skills, such as facilitation, leadership, communication, fundraising, organising, project management, inclusion, outreach, and intercultural dialogue. In doing so, the EYP prepares young European citizens not only to take an active role in our network, but to use these skills to benefit society as a whole.
Because of the international nature of the EYP, alumni often benefit from the many opportunities for networking, travelling and personal development that arise from being part of the EYPUK Alumni Association and the wider EYP alumni network. Being an alumnus enables young people to travel and attend events right across Europe, and thereby meet and work with a huge variety of young people. It facilitates the ability to gain confidence and personal skills, and the opportunity to make new and often long lasting friendships.
In some instances, EYPUK may be able to offer a small reimbursement towards costs of travelling to EYPUK events incurred by officials and volunteers. For more information, click here.
